Kenyataannya, interaksi dari muatan-muatan itu bisa menghasilkan gaya, <em>lho<\/em>. <em>Wah<\/em>, gaya? Seperti apa itu? Di kelas delapan, kita sudah sama-sama tahu <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.ruangguru.com\/pengertian-gaya-dan-5-pengaruhnya-terhadap-benda-lain\">apa itu pengertian gaya dan pengaruhnya terhadap benda lain.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tapi, gaya hasil dari benda bermuatan listrik, kira-kira <em>kayak<\/em> gimana ya?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Supaya bisa menjawabnya, mari kita berkenalan dengan fisikawan Prancis bernama <strong>Charles-Augustin de Coulomb<\/strong>. Dialah salah satu ilmuwan yang penemuannya paling berpengaruh dalam sejarah kelistrikan.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-web.ruangguru.com\/landing-pages\/assets\/hs\/siapa%20penemu%20hukum%20coulomb.png\" alt=\"siapa penemu hukum coulomb\" width=\"600\" style=\"width: 600px; display: block; margin: 0px auto;\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Coulomb belajar matematika di kampus terkenal Coll\u00e8ge des Quatre-Nations. Tahun 1759, ia masuk sekolah militer M\u00e9zi\u00e8res. Setelahnya, Coloumb menghabiskan sembilan tahun hidupnya di Hindia Barat menjadi insinyur militer. Saat <a href=\"\/revolusi-perancis\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>revolusi Prancis<\/strong><\/a> bergejolak, dia memutuskan untuk pensiun dan tinggal di Blois, Prancis, dan mengabdikan dirinya menjadi peneliti ilmiah.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Coulomb ini mulai mengembangkan penelitian mengenai listrik dengan menyelidiki lebih lanjut mengenai hukum tolakan listrik yang ditemukan Joseph Priestley. Lalu, pada 1768, dengan menggunakan Torsion Balance, Coloumb mulai ngotak-ngatik dan mengecek interaksi dari dua benda bermuatan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-web.ruangguru.com\/landing-pages\/assets\/hs\/torsion%20balance%20coulomb.png\" alt=\"torsion balance coulomb\" width=\"197\" style=\"width: 197px; display: block; margin: 0px auto;\">Torsion balance (Sumber: nationalmaglab.org)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dari sana dia tahu kalau ada <strong>karakteristik tertentu dari benda-benda yang bermuatan.<\/strong> Kalau muatannya sejenis, benda ini akan mengalami gaya tolak-menolak. Sementara kalau muatannya beda jenis, gaya yang timbul tarik-menarik.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Seperti apa?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Yak, betul. Kayak <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.ruangguru.com\/mengenal-magnet-dan-sifatnya\">sifat magnet.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-web.ruangguru.com\/landing-pages\/assets\/hs\/interaksi%20benda%20bermuatan%20listrik.png\" alt=\"interaksi benda bermuatan listrik\" width=\"600\" style=\"width: 600px; display: block; margin: 0px auto;\"><\/p>\n<p>Tidak hanya sifat dari gaya yang muncul, Coulomb juga mencoba mengubah variabel-variabel yang ada. Iya, dia pengen tahu, \u201c<em>Gimana sih<\/em> cara menghitung gayanya?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pertama, dari dua benda tadi, dia mengubah besar-kecilnya muatan di salah satu benda (dengan menambah muatan, atau menguranginya dengan mengalirkan ke bumi) sambil mengecek perubahan gaya yang terjadi.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-web.ruangguru.com\/landing-pages\/assets\/hs\/pengaruh%20besar%20kecilnya%20muatan%20listrik%20terhadap%20gaya%20coulomb.png\" alt=\"pengaruh besar kecilnya muatan listrik terhadap gaya coulomb\" width=\"600\" style=\"width: 600px; display: block; margin: 0px auto;\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ternyata, <strong>gaya sebanding dengan perubahan muatan kedua benda.<\/strong> Maka, dia mendapatkan hasil sementara:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center; font-size: 24px;\">F \u221d Q<sub>1<\/sub>Q<sub>2<\/sub><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tidak berhenti sampai di sana, ia mengubah jarak antara dua benda tadi. Ia menjauhkan lalu mendekatkan kembali kedua benda tersebut. Sambil tetap memeriksa gaya yang terjadi.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-web.ruangguru.com\/landing-pages\/assets\/hs\/pengaruh%20jarak%20terhadap%20gaya%20coulomb.png\" alt=\"pengaruh jarak terhadap gaya coulomb\" width=\"600\" style=\"width: 600px; display: block; margin: 0px auto;\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ternyata, gaya <strong>berbanding terbalik dengan kuadrat jaraknya. <\/strong>Semakin jauh jarak dua benda tadi, gaya yang dihasilkan akan semakin mengecil sebesar pangkat dua. Dia pun dapat hipotesis lanjutan:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-web.ruangguru.com\/landing-pages\/assets\/hs\/image-730.png\" width=\"115\" style=\"width: 115px; display: block; margin: 0px auto;\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">dengan menggabungkan dengan hipotesis pertama, maka gaya yang timbul menjadi seperti gini:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-web.ruangguru.com\/landing-pages\/assets\/hs\/image-731.png\" width=\"138\" style=\"width: 138px; display: block; margin: 0px auto;\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Wah<\/em>, udah mulai <em>kebentuk nih <\/em>pencarian gaya dari benda-benda bermuatan si Coulomb.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tapi, ini belum selesai.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Coulomb ternyata menyadari bahwa interaksi ini akan beda hasilnya, <strong>kalau dilakukan di medium yang berbeda.<\/strong> Kalau benda ini ada di dalam air, misalnya. Hasilnya akan berbeda dengan di udara terbuka, misalnya.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Baca juga: <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.ruangguru.com\/ipa-kelas-9-penerapan-listrik-dinamis-di-sekitar-kita\">Penerapan Listrik Dinamis di Sekitar Kita<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Maka, dia butuh satu variabel lagi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Yak, betul. konstanta. Berhubung kita kemungkinan besar ngebuat percobaan atau ngitung gaya dua benda bermuatan ini di udara terbuka, atau ruang hampa, sehingga konstantanya jadi 9 x 10<sup>9<\/sup> Nm<sup>2<\/sup>\/C<sup>2<\/sup>. Sehingga kesimpulan hukum Coulomb adalah sebagai berikut:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-web.ruangguru.com\/landing-pages\/assets\/hs\/rumus%20hukum%20coulomb.png\" alt=\"rumus hukum coulomb\" width=\"600\" style=\"width: 600px; display: block; margin: 0px auto;\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Konsep pencarian konstanta ini sebenarnya mirip-mirip dengan penemuan Cavendish tentang gaya gravitasi bumi. Cuma, ya, kita <em>nggak<\/em> akan terlalu jauh sampai sana sih. Yang paling penting adalah kebayang bagaimana konsep dari penemuan gaya ini. Soalnya, kalau udah kebayang, kan, <em>nggak<\/em> perlu ribet-ribet harus terpaksa menghafal rumusnya. Tinggal pahamin cerita soal Coulomb ini, lalu bakal <em>auto<\/em> inget deh sama materi dan konsepnya. Ya, kamu bisa aja, sih, bikin \u201chafalan cepet\u201d pakai singkatan kayak gaya = kakiku dibagi rata-rata buat ngapalin rumusnya. Tapi, buat apa, kalau cuma sekadar ingat gituan? :p<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sekarang kita coba masuk ke contoh soal ya. Di artikel ini gampang aja deh. Cuma biar <em>nggak<\/em> salah <em>pake<\/em> dan tahu kalau kita harus <em>muterin<\/em> balik ke satuan yang dipakai.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Contoh:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Jika ada dua benda bermuatan dengan Q<sub>1<\/sub> = 4 x 10<sup>-6<\/sup> C dan Q<sub>2<\/sub> = 6 x 10<sup>-6 <\/sup>C dengan jarak 2 cm. Berapakah gaya Coulomb yang terdapat di antara dua benda tersebut?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Pembahasan:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-web.ruangguru.com\/landing-pages\/assets\/hs\/image-732.png\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Catatan: karena jenis muatan Q<sub>1<\/sub> (+4) dan Q<sub>2<\/sub> (+6) sama-sama positif, maka gaya yang terjadi di antara mereka adalah gaya tolak-menolak.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nah, gimana?
